Funding boosts for mining heritage
An arts scheme aimed at renewing the industrialised heartland of East Ayrshire is inline to receive more than £ 2.5 million in National Lottery funding.
The Coal field Comm unity Landscape Partnership intends to open up opportunities for tourism in the area, which once had a thriving coal industry.
Lucy Casot, head of the Heritage Lottery Funding Scotland, said :“The partnership will help people re connect with their heritage and inspire stewardship of the land.”
