Coastguard rescues boat after burst pipe
A fishing boat had to be towed ashore after it began to take on water due to a burst pipe.
The Maritime and Coastguard Agency were alerted to a vessel in distress by L er wick Port Control at 7.30am on Thursday.
A pipe had burst on board and the 44- metre boat began to quickly take on water.
L er wick Coast guard Rescue Team, L er wick RNLI Lifeboat and the UK Coast guard search and rescue helicopter based at Sumburgh, Shetland were sent to assist. All ten crew members were recovered safe and well.
