Sweet message from Tate & Lyle

Sweetener and i ngre - dients firm Tate& Lyle has raised its fullyear profit guidance “modestly” following a strong first half.

The company saw sales rise 6 per cent to £1.4 billion in the six months to 30 September, while pre-tax profit rose 26 per cent to £ 161 million.

Tate & Lyle said that its speciality food ingredients and new pro ducts helped boost sales.
