Sevens stars return as Melrose target ten- in- a- row at Myreside

Melrose welcome back their Scotland Sevens players as the BT Premiershi­p leaders head to My reside tonight to play Watsonians looking to make it ten league wins in a row.

The Borderers have won all nine of their top- flight matches so far this term, collecting a bonus point in all of them including a 54-22 victory over Watson ian sb ac kin September.

However, So ni ans, in seventh place in the table, have won their last two matches and six days ago went to Millbrae and defeated reigning champions Ayr 48- 12. As a result, this evening’s game could be a cracker as the second half of the season gets underway and key backs Ross Mccann, Nyle Godsmark and Sam Pecqueur return for the visitors.

Mel rose head coach Rob Chrys tie said: “Watsonians are on a roll now and this is not a surprise when you look at the quality group of players they have assembled.

“We are under no illusion of the challenges this fixture presents and are looking forward to it.”

After the victory at A yr, W at so ni ans make just one change to the starting XV with Edinburgh Rugby’ s Jason Harries starting on the wing in place of Keith Young.
