Salmond set to take show onto the small screen

- By ANGUS HOWARTH

Former first minister Alex Salmond is reportedly launching his own television chat show. Mr Salmond, who enjoyed a successful stint at this year’s Edinburgh Festival Fringe, is set to take inspiration from his show Alex Salmond… Unleashed by launching a TV programme expected to be along a similar format. His star guests at the festival included Brexit secretary David Davis, Hibs manager Neil Lennon and actor Brian Cox.

Mr Salmond, who lost his Westminister seat of Gordon in June, took his show on tour last month.

He is yet to indicate what channel or platform the show would appear on, but a launch party is planned for Thursday in London.

The EX-SNP leader has separately joined a bid to install new leadership at Johnston Press, the publisher of The Scotsman.
