Dog owner is banned after starving terrier
A Peterhead man has been banned from owning animals for five years after starving his dog and not treating it to fight a womb infection.
Paul Rogers, 47, received the ban at Peterhead Sheriff Court on Thursday and was also give a six-month supervision order.
He plead guilty to failing to provide a suitable diet to his Staffordshire bull terrier, Bonnie, who had to be put down.
Scottish SPCA inspector Lesley Crockett said the terrier had been severely emaciated and also had a mammary and suspected thyroid tumours.
