Wheelchair user dies after being hit by lorry

A wheelchair user has died after he was hit by a lorry in Greenock.

The 41-year-old was struck as he crossed Dalrymple Street in the Inverclyde town around 11:45am on Wednesday.

He was treated at Glasgow’s Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, but died on Thursday.

The 52-year-old lorry driver was left shaken, but escaped without injury. Police have appealed for witnesses to the incident.
