Bain left out over breach of club discipline
Dundee goalkeeper Scott Bain has been left out of the Dens Park club’s squad ahead of today’s clash with Hibs at Easter Road.
It’s understood Bain, an ever-present this season, has been punished for a breach of club discipline.
The highly-rated 25 yearold was included in the squad for the under-20s’ fixture against Patrick Thistle at Airdrie on Tuesday night and left on the bench.
Elliot Parish, who Dundee signed from Accrington Stanley during the summer, will likely make his first-team debut in place of Bain against Neil Lennon’s in-form side.
Dundee manager Neil Mccann watched his side drop to the bottom of the table after last weekend’s 3-1 home defeat by Hamilton Accies. Dundee have not won at Easter Road since 2001.
Defender Cammy Kerr believes Mccann will turn things around and insists he can transform Dundee into a top-six team.
“Looking at it as a Dundee fan, when the manager came in it was a breath of fresh air,” said Kerr.
“He has come in and he’s looking for the club to have a different identity, which I think is spot on.
“It’s something that Dundee has been stuck in for years; a club that does OK and is up and down. But that’s not where we should be. We should be a club that’s pushing on and other people look at as a topsix team, at least.”
