-

A woman was rescued after falling into the water from the Tay Road Bridge outside Dundee yesterday morning.

The Broughty Ferry RNLI station’s all-weather and inshore lifeboats were called into action after the alarm was raised just after 2:30am.

A Broughty Ferry lifeboat spokesman said: “Soon after arriving at the scene the lifeboat crews, against all odds, found the female and removed her from the water.”

She was taken to nearby Pilot Pier before being transferred by ambulance to Ninewells Hospital.
