Reprieve for city music school
Plans to close Edinburgh’s world-renowned music school have been formally dropped. The proposed £363,000 cut sparked an outcry when revealed by The Scotsman.
Council leader Adam Mcvey said: “We have taken the decision to remove the proposal for a Citywide Excellence and Equity Service out of the suite of proposals for consultation.”
Violinist Nicola Benedetti wrote on Facebook: “This is the only acceptable outcome to what was a shocking proposal to begin with.”
