Affleck ‘examining my behaviour’ amid scandal

- By SAM GOLDING

Actor Ben Affleck says the storm of sexual harassment allegations engulfing Hollywood has led him to examine his own behaviour.

In an interview promoting superherofilmjusticeleague, Affleck said he was “looking at my own behaviour ad addressing that and making sure I’m part of the solution”.

After condemning Harvey Weinstein’s actions last month, Affleck was forced to defend his own conduct.

He apologised for groping the actress Hilarie Burton on camera in 2003 when she was a host on MTV’S Total Request Live. Another video from 2004 showed Affleck pulling Montreal TV host Anne-marie Losique on to his lap.

After the video circulated showing Affleck cuddling Losique and joking about exposing her breasts, the journalist came forward to state the footage had been taken out of context and that it was “for the camera”.

“He never touched me in any improper way. He was very respectful, I must say,” she added.

Affleck said that “more women need to be pushed to power” and that sexual harassment also had to be “a men’s issue” where men call out inappropriate behaviour.
