Steady course: easyjet overcomes cancellations to post rising numbers
Budget airline easyjet has recorded a steady rise in passenger numbers despite being hit by hundreds of cancellations. Figures released yesterday by the carrier showed that just over 7.5 million passengers flew with easyjet last month, an increase of almost 10 per cent on a year earlier. The load factor, which indicates how full its planes were, rose by 2.3 percentage points to 92.5 per cent. There were 434 cancellations last month, against 164 in October 2016, mainly due to French strike action and adverse weather.
