Firefighters rescue man from house fire

A man was yesterday in serious condition in hospital after he was rescued from a house fire.

Emergency services were called to the scene in Derbeth Crescent, Aberdeen, at around 7:30pm on Monday.

Firefighters rescued a man from inside the property.

Police yesterday said the 54-year-old was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary where he was in serious condition.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and police will carry out a joint investigation to establish the cause of the blaze.
