Trust in Oliver

-

Neil Oliver is to be congratulated on his appointment as the president of the National Trust for Scotland.

He is to be further congratulated on the stand he has taken with regard to the supporters of independence who oppose his appointment, saying their views are “water off a duck’s back ”( scots man ,7 november ).

Their opposition is yet another instance of the bigotry of the pro-independence movement. I find it incredible that they set up an online petition against his appointment which had signatories.

Is this a new strategy to overturn the result of the 2014 referendum, to create a neomccarthyism where prounion Scots are blocked from key positions?

The appointment of Neil Oliver as president will be of great benefit to the National Trust for Scotland and his near-cult figure status will definitely attract more members.

Along with Tony Robinson and Dan Snow, he has re invented the history documentary and rid ito fits st aid image.
