Man killed in collision is named

A pedestrian who died after he was hit by a car on a slip road has been named by police.

Richard John Cooper, 38, from Edinburgh, was at the slip road of the southbound carriageway of the A1 near Gladsmuir, East Lothian, when he was struck by a Volkswagen Beetle. Emergency services attended and he was pronounced dead at the scene. The incident happened at around 6:25pm on 4 November.
