Teaching union to stage strikes over pay and conditions

I am of a generation who is able to remember when teachers spent much of their time actually teaching. – Aristotle They could always “strike” on the day’s training being offered for the “Named Persons Act”. Win for the kids and the teachers. – Ayrshire Dad Teaching is primarily a cushy job dominated by women (this is never mentioned in the ‘equality’ war, of course). The pay and conditions are dreadful for many men in jobs women would never want to be equal in. Can we hear how bad things are for men for a change? – Auld Reekie Wife has been a teacher for 17 years. Reckons a pay increase is all very well, but she is pretty dissatisfi­ed with the job due to the workload expectatio­ns at her (high performing) state school. What’s the point in a pay rise when you have no work-life balance to spend it in. – choccywocc­ydoda What was it Sturgeon said we’ve to judge her on?
