Croatia do the business

-

This game was as dull as the scoreline suggests but that won’t matter to Croatia, who had already as good as confirmed their place at next year’s World Cup finals courtesy of their 4-1 victory in the first leg.

Last night was just about seeing out the game for Zlatko Dalic’s men. And they did that with little fuss, meaning that Luka Modric, who earned his 103rd cap, can look forward to his third World Cup finals.

Croatia’s Ivan Perisic hit the post just before the break but it took 86 minutes for the first – and only – shot on target. Greece’s Panagiotis Tachtsidis shot straight at Danijel Subasic.
