Bellrock plugs into extra work with EDF
Bellrock Technology, the Glasgow-based data analytics business, announced a significant extension of its work with EDF Energy yesterday.
The Scottish company, which already helps improve the monitoring of the French energy giant’s UK nuclear reactors, has been further engaged to enhance the monitoring of key electrical equipment across EDF Energy’s other generation sites. The announcement, made at the Euro Techcon conference in Glasgow yesterday, said Bellrock Technology would use its Lumen software to assess the health of equipment.
Bellrock’s new work, on which no financial value has been disclosed, will initially focus on transformers “with scope to extend to wider equipment such as generators, switchgear and cables”. Adam Brown, CEO at Bellrock, said: “Lumen lets companies deploy their research and development programmes without the need for significant in-house systems expenditure and over-reliance on third-party suppliers.”
