Legal firm Weightmans hails record six months

Uk-wide law firm Weightmans has posted a record half-year result and appointed a new group finance director.

The firm, which has more than 1,400 people working for it across offices in Birmingham, Glasgow, Leeds, Leicester, Liverpool, Manchester and London, announced interim revenues of £44 million, up 7.3 per cent on the previous year and marking the first financial results since the introduction of its new structure and strategy in May.

Meanwhile, the firm has welcomed Bob Granger to the role of group finance director. He joins from Lakeland, where he was finance and retail director for 13 years and helped with the transformation of the company into a digitally focused, international business.

Managing partner John Schorah said: “We are extremely proud of our results for the half year, our best to date, which set us on course for further growth over the coming months.”

Granger added: “I’m delighted to be joining Weightmans.”
