Hibernian Double-edged sword
John Mcginn’s man of the match performance against Holland was another boost to his burgeoning reputation. It is a double-edged sword for Hibs, who will hope we reap the benefit of his soaring confidence, but at the same time be aware of the impending transfer window and interest he is bound to attract. However, Hibs have a good track record of deterring suitors for our stars unless our own valuation is met.
I felt for Paul Hanlon, who must have thought he (or Liam Cooper) would replace Christophe Berra when he was substituted, but hopefully he enjoyed his first experience of the Scotland squad. Mcginn and Hanlon will be looking forward to facing St Johnstone and the break will have benefitted players struggling with injury.
