Filip Forsberg scored his 100th NHL goal to lead the Nashville Predators to their fifth win in a row, beating the Washington Capitals 6-3. Forsberg netted his ninth goal of the season at 6:45 of the second period, on a turnaround shot from the left circle. Nick Bonino also scored for the Predators, returning to the lineup after missing 11 games with a lower-body injury, while Kevin Fiala and Mattias Ekholm each had a goal and an assist. Craig Smith and Miikka Salomaki netted the side’s other two goals. The Columbus Blue Jackets won 2-1 against the Montreal Canadiens thanks to an overtime goal from Zach Werenski. Cam Atkinson had carried the puck over the Montreal blue line and curled to his right, passing to Werenski who shot past goaltender Charlie Lindgren. The victory followed a similar 2-1 shootout win against the Detriot Red Wings on Saturday, which had ended a four-game losing streak for the Blue Jackets. The Pittsburgh Penguins came from behind to eventually clinch a 5-4 victory against the Buffalo Sabres. With the Sabres leading 4-3 going into the final period, it was up to Phil Kessel to tie the scores, dropping to one knee for a one-timer past Robin Lehner with 6:11 remaining in the period. Conor Sheary then scored his second goal of the game just 16 seconds into overtime to secure the win for the Penguins. Connor Mcdavid and Ryan Nugent-hopkins both scored twice as the Edmonton Oilers pummelled the Vegas Golden Knights 8-2, while Devan Dubnyk made 30 saves to help the Minnesota Wild shut out the Philadelphia Flyers 3-0. Elsewhere, the Florida Panthers defeated the Dallas Stars 4-3, the Winnipeg Jets toppled the Arizona Coyotes 4-1 and the Vancouver Canucks beat the Los Angeles Kings 3-2.
