IVF hopefuls told to take vitamin D

Taking vitamin D pills could help women get pregnant, say scientists.

A study at Birmingham University found those undergoing fertility treatment were a third more likely to have a baby if their levels of the “sunshine vitamin” were high.the study of 2,700 women having IVF or other forms of assisted reproducti­ve treatment also found they were 46 per cent more likely to conceive.

Co-author Dr Ioannis Gallos said the find had been “startling”.
