Stop ticket touts

-

There must be much more done to prevent ticket touts selling tickets at greatly inflated prices as it is really unfair to fans who miss out or are left severely out of pocket if they choose to buy from ticket touts. I tried in vain on Sunday to get tickets for comic Peter Kay in Manchester and it was impossible – the website crashed and within an hour all tickets were sold out.

Yet that same morning tickets were being offered on resale sites for ten times their face value – this is exceptionally unfair. It would not be difficult to prevent this if venues introduced a policy that people must collect tickets from the venue with the credit or debit card used to purchase the ticket, and photographic ID. In light of the terrorist attack in Manchester earlier this year I am surprised changes to identify people going into venues have not been put in place, if not for security alone.
