Queen of the South A game too many

-

Queens avoided exiting two cup competitions in successive games with an underwhelming goalless draw at Montrose, followed by an even more underwhelming 2-1 victory in the replay.

That was the third time we have faced The Gable Endies this season, having struggled through after extra time in the Challenge Cup, and I think everyone is glad we won’t have to face them again this season. We could have done without the extra cup game as we now face four games in two weeks. This may prove too much for a smallish squad that is so reliant on the elder statesmen of Stephen Dobbie, Derek Lyle, James Mcfadden and John Rankin. With the cup out of the way until next year the priority is cementing our challenge for the play-offs.
