Walker rescued after becoming lost in hills
A walker has been rescued in dark and snowy conditions after becoming lost and disoriented in the hills.
The man raised the alarm at around 4pm on Thursday after losing his way as he tried to reach a bothy above Bentpath, near Langholmindumfriesand Galloway. A search was launched involving more than 20 members of Moffat Mountain Rescue Team, a Police Scotland mountain rescue team from Glasgow and a search and rescue helicopter from Caernarfon in Wales before a local shepherd assisted in a review which led to the missing person.
