#ALEXSALMOND Ukrainian ambassador to the UK Natalia Galibarenko accused Alex Salmond of sacrificing his reputation to become “a puppet” on the Kremlin-backed RT television channel.

@mogatrons offered: “Alex Salmond is a private citizen and has total editorial control of the content, and was rejected by British broadcasters – which raises concerns about their own attitude to fair representation – esp BBC/ CH4, who are bound by charter. Isn’t it a good thing that RT oblige?”

@wflanger added: “I find it dangerous that some folk who support SNP can’t even bring themselves to look at Salmond on RT objectively. You can do both”

@Deanbburrell commented: “Normally a big fan of @Alexsalmond but don’t believe his show on #RT is the best show of his talents. His nicely nicely approach as a host just isn’t him, he’s at his best while debating and being confrontational.”

@MAXQTV observed: “Here’s the truth of it. When Russia Today bought Salmond’s show, they didn’t do it because they believe in fair coverage and ‘exposing the truth’. They identified a wedge group, and planted its

claws in that group. If they find a unionist wedge group as potent, they’ll grasp that too”

@Wren857 said: “Watched Alex Salmond’s show on RT out of curiosity. Have to say it was pretty good, covering a range of subjects outside of politics. Interview with Jackie Stewart on dyslexia and dementia was really interesting”

#BLACKFRIDAY

The marketing gimmick imported from across the pond had fewer shoppers than expected hunting for bargains with a month to go until Christmas.

@whatbutlersaw said: “Looks like bargain hunters have had more than a lie in with the volume of online Black Friday shoppers between midnight and 7am down 24 per cent according to PCA Predict. Getting pictures of quiet stores too”

@stormofquiet added: “This new ‘all week’ Black Friday plan has seriously reduced the entertainment value of the supermarket punch-up videos we used to await with eager anticipation”

@Angryscotland grumbled: “The fact that Britain doesn’t celebrate #Thanksgiving but does celebrate #Blackfriday tells you all you need to know about this society”
