Baggage handlers ‘part of drug plot’
Heathrow baggage handlers were part of a multi-millionpound drug plot smuggling more than 100kg of cocaine into the UK, Southwark Crown Court has been told.
Gurmit Singh, 55, and Mohammad Ali, 41, are accused of intercepting suitcases containing drugs while working in Terminal 5 at the London airport.
They are on trial along with five co-defendants.
They allegedly diverted the bags, which came in on flights from Brazil, into domestic arrivals.
