‘Drunk’ ex-corrie actor guilty of sexual assault

Former Coronation Street star Bruno Langley was given a 12-month community order for sexually molesting women in a club while drunk.

Langley pleaded guilty to two counts of sexual assault at Manchester Magistrate­s’ Court after admitting grabbing the crotch of his victims.

He also grabbed the crotch of a third woman and touched the breasts and bottom of a fourth woman, but was not charged over those assaults.

The34-year-old,fromaltrin- cham, Cheshire, left the ITV soap in the wake of the allegation­s following the assaults in the early hours of 1 October at the Band On The Wall music venue in Manchester.

Langley, who had played Todd Grimshaw for more than a decade in the soap, had personal issues with alcohol, his solicitor told the court.

He was yesterday sentenced to a 12-month community order, including 40 days rehabilita­tion activity, and a 12-week, 7am to 7pm curfew order. He must sign the Sex Offenders’ Register for the next five years.
