Burst main dries up water supply for thousands

A burst water main has left thousands of homes without water in Glasgow.

As many as 50,000 properties in the city’s south and west as well as Renfrew were hit yesterday morning.

Engineers located the burst main in Renfrew.

Affected properties experienced some discoloured water once reconnected. Customers were advised to run the cold water tap in their kitchen until the water ran clear.
