Dobbie 69pen, Carswell 84og Queen of the South came from behind twice to grab a point in a game that featured two own goals and a penalty.

Dumbarton took the lead on nine minutes when Stuart Carswell won the ball with a crunching challenge and fed Dimitris Froxylias, who sent Sam Wardrop free on the right. The full back’s cross came off the visiting Callum Tapping and looped high into his own net.

Queens’ miserable start continued when Callum Fordyce limped off after 24 minutes, Shaun Rooney coming on in his place. It looked like their luck was turning when Andy Dowie was short with a passback, but Scott Gallacher pushed away Lyndon Dykes’ shot.

Dykes fired a volley wide with an hour gone, but Kyle Hutton came close for the hosts with a 20-yard drive that just crept over.

A leveller came on 69 minutes when Carswell tripped Chris Kane and Stephen Dobbie slotted home the resultant spotkick.

Dumbarton went ahead again eight minutes from full-time when Walsh swung over a cross and Greg Morrison headed home from six yards.

However, just two minutes later a Dobbie corner found the net off Carswell for another self-inflicted wound.
