Marathon cyclist locked up for abusing officers
A round-the-world cyclist’s epic 15-year adventure was brought to an abrupt halt after he ended up being locked up on the day he arrived in Scotland.
Pedal-powered globetrotter Adelino Ferreira, 58, will spend his first three weeks in Scotland in the maximum security conditions at Perth Prison.
The Portuguese national appeared in the dock at Perth Sheriff Court yesterday. He admitted to behaving in a threatening or abusive manner by shouting, swearing and struggling with officers in South Methven Street on Tuesday night leading to his arrest.
