#TRUMP

Politicians reacted with shock and anger after President Donald Trump retweeted three anti-muslim videos posted by the deputy leader of Britain First. The extreme far-right group have grabbed attention with posts about what they deem the ‘Islamification of the UK’. @Ianblackfordmp said: “Trump re-tweeting videos from far right organisations in the UK underlines once again why a state visit to the UK would not be appropriate for the President.” @Mrbrendoncox added: “Trump has legitimised the far right in his own country, now he’s trying to do it in ours. Spreading hatred has consequences and the President should be ashamed of himself.” @heatherdesign said: “It’s shocking to see the President of the United States retweet such inflammatory information. Unbelievable.”

#BREXIT

Reports are circulating that the UK Government has agreed to a larger potential ‘divorce bill’ with the EU – thought to be between €40 billion and €60bn. The figures are two to three times larger than what Prime Minister Theresa May had initially said the UK was willing to pay. @Garyw_ said: “50bn for Brexit, 50bn for HS2, 1bn for the DUP and other costs here and there and yet there is no magic money tree.” @ajcoles added: “I don’t think the UK will get anything in return. There will be a lot more money to pay in the future for access to the SM especially for service.” @grhumphrey said: “The day we voted out, we should have stopped any payment to EU from then. At least we would have had a chance to negotiate under our own terms. At the moment it is one way. Just walk away now. Who cares?”

#AVENGERS

Nearly ten years after Iron Man launched the Marvel cinematic universe, fans enjoyed a glimpse of what Avengers: Infinity War will look like on the big screen – with the film partly shot in Edinburgh. @Valcanbuild said: “Was expecting to see some shots of Edinburgh in the new Avengers trailer. Apparently none of the exciting stuff was filmed here for them to put into the trailer.” @TECHNOIR added: “I canny believe there’s bits of Avengers Infinity War in Edinburgh, in my town. Chris Evans get oot my house.”
