Forth Ports pumps cash into training academy
Forth Ports is to invest in a purpose-built training academy within the Port of Grangemouth, it was announced yesterday.
Construction is due to start in early 2018 with completion expected to be at the end of the year. A tender process is now underway to appoint a contractor.
Forth Ports described the move as a “key strategic investment” in its long-term focus on skills, qualifications and personal development across its Scottish operations. The group also has a “logistics academy” located at its port in Tilbury on the Thames. Charles Hammond, group chief executive at Forth Ports, said: “This significant investment demonstratesourcommitment to developing our workforce for the present and for the future.”
