Queen of the South Poor return

-

Saturday’s game with Livingston was an opportunity to make a statement of intent regarding our play-off prospects. Not only would a victory have seen us leapfrog the Lions into fourth, but, as the surprise package of the season, beating them would have sent a message to the other contenders. In the end, we were well beaten.

Tuesday night offered a chance to make amends. While a draw at Dumbarton, after falling behind twice, is a decent result when viewed independently, that coupled with the Livingston drubbing is a poor return for a side looking to climb the table. We are three or four signings from competing with the top sides, but the longer we stay in the mix the more likely the board are of sanctioning these signings in January.
