Morton Thompson on target

Nine months after signing a pre-contract agreement, Robert Thomson finally showed what he is capable of with a brace against Falkirk on Saturday. Thomson’s two goals either side of the break secured Morton’s 3-0 win – the club’s highest-winning margin on the road in 10 months. Gary Harkins also continued his rich vein of form, netting his fourth goal of the season to make it three in his last four matches, too. Following a positive point away to Dunfermline on Tuesday night, it has been an encouraging return to league action for Jim Duffy’s men following the international break.

Next Saturday will see Morton aim to make it seven points from nine with Brechin City the visitors.
