Appeal launched for missing man six months on

A fresh appeal for information has been launched six months after the disappearance of a man from his home on the Isle of Arran.

Police Scotland are trying to locate 77-year-old John Smith, from Machrie. He was last seen by a neighbour close to Machrie Golf Club about 6:10pm on 30 May.

Mr Smith was understood to have been heading in an easterly direction to meet a friend, but never arrived. He is described as white, 5ft 4’, of slim build, with short grey hair and blue eyes. He was last seen wearing a dark coloured jacket.
