Paint the town: New exhibition at Scottish Gallery of Modern Art showcases some of Scotland’s most progressive 20th century artists
Blue Fan, a 1920s oil painting by the Scottish Colourist, Francis Cadell, is admired by onlookers at a preview of the Scottish Gallery of Modern Art’s latest exhibition. The show, ‘A New Era: Scottish Modern Art 1900-1950’ which features the work of prominent 20th century Scottish artists, including JD Fergusson and SJ Peploe.
The exhibition is named after the New Era group established in Edinburgh in 1939 to show the experimental work of its members
