Second biotech for office park
The Maxim Office Park at Eurocentral next to the M8 motorway corridor has secured a second biotechnology tenant.
Lamellar Biomedical is taking a total of 3,444 square feet across two suites within the Maxim 1 building on a fiveyear lease, it was revealed yesterday. Fit-out works are currently underway ahead of an expected January entry date.
The company, which is relocating from Caledonian House, Bellshill, is developing a range of patent protected medical devices and pharmaceuticals for the healthcare market. It plans to use its new base to support the further development of its range of medical devices and pharmaceuticals.
Craig Ritchie, director at Maxim Office Park, said: “I canconfirmthatlamellarbiomedical has chosen to relocate to Maxim. Lamellar is the second biotechnology company operating from the park so it’s fantastic that Maxim is now home to two organisations that are playing a significant role in the Scottish healthcare sector.”
Alec Mclean, chief executive at Lamellar Biomedical, added: “Given the range of partnerships that we have developed with NHS Scotland and leading clinicians and academics across the country, this strategic location within easy reach of major Scottish cities and airports will be hugely beneficial to both the business and our staff.”
Lamellar joins fellow biotechnology company TC Biopharm at the park, which also plays host to the likes of Sepa, Wills Bros, Allied Glass, Document Data Group, Regus and Balfour Beatty.
Cushman & Wakefield and Ryden represented Maxim Office Park in both biotech deals, while Lamellar Biotechnology was unrepresented.
