NHS bosses in fatal drug mix warning
NHS bosses have warned of potentially fatal mix of drugs which led to an increase of hospital admissions at the weekend.
NHS Borders said it saw a “small but concerning number of drug users admitted” to Borders General Hospital.
It is thought patients had mixed heroin with the synthetic opioid fentanyl, prescribed legally as a painkiller for the terminally ill in the form of a skin patch or nasal spray.
