Natural beauty: Winners of the 2017 Royal Society Publishing Photography competition unveiled

Peter Convey’s image of an aeroplane over the Antarctic Peninsula has been named overall winner in the Royal Society Pub lishing Photography competition. Carlos Jared’s photo of green tree frogs and Petr Horalek’s image of the skies above the Paranal Observatory in Chile were given honourable mentions. Nico de Bruyn’s image of killer whales hunting penguins was named winner in the ecology and environmental science category.
