Plant pots to protect against attacks

-

Security measures to protect shoppers from terrorist attacks have been upped in Scotland’s largest city – with the installation of giant plant pots.

City workers in Glasgow have put up three metre wide plastic plant pots on the main retail streets to protect pedestrians from potential vehicle terror attacks.

It comes ahead of longterm security measures, including hi-tech retractable bollards, to be put in place in next year. The pots feature on Sauchiehall and Buchanan Streets – some of the busiest shopping attractions in Scotland.
