Oil workers evacuated from platform

-

Nearly 160 workers were last night being taken off a North Sea platform amid fears of huge waves in an approaching storm.

CNR International said 159 members of staff were being evacuated from the Ninian South platform, which is situated 240 miles from Aberdeen.

It said the move was due to safety concerns over wave height during Storm Caroline.

The firm said no other installations were affected.
