56-year-old stabbed during serious assault

A 56-year-old man was stabbed during a serious assault in Lanark.

Police said that at around 6pm on Wednesday afternoon, the victim was walking outside a house in Smyllum Road, Lanark, when he was approached by a man who attacked him.

The injured man was taken to Wishaw General Hospital where he is being treated for stab wounds.

The man responsible is described as white, 5ft 8ins in height and of slim build. He was wearing dark coloured clothing with his face covered, possibly by a hooded top.
