Man in court over bomb attack threat

A man appeared in court yesterday accused of sparking a major incident after making threats to kill people and plant bombs across a city. Patrick Mccabe appeared at Dundee Sheriff Court after police and a bomb disposal squad rushed to his home in Dundee’s Fairbairn Street, near the city’s football stadiums, on Wednesday night. A controlled explosion was carried out shortly before 7am yesterday after a partial evacuation. Mccabe, 65, of Fairbairn Street, Dundee, made a brief private appearance on petition. He made no plea.
