Man, 20, arrested over thefts from cars

A 20-year-old man has been arrested and charged following a series of thefts from vehicles in the Armadale area.

The five incidents happened overnight between Monday and Tuesday.

Inquiries were conducted by officers from Lothian and Scottish Borders Division’s Community Investigation Unit and the 20-year-old was detained on Tuesday. He appeared at Livingston Sheriff Court on Wednesday and was subsequently remanded to custody. Officers are currently undertaking further inquiries to trace others involved.
