Jack loses Pittodrie red-card appeal

He has now spent a proportion of the week following successive defeats by Rangers liaising with the Ibrox club about possibly going there. It is not a good look. That’s why it is fair to say his work at Aberdeen now really begins. Rangers midfielder Ryan Jack has been handed a three-match ban after his appeal against Sunday’s red card at Pittodrie was thrown out yesterday.

The former Aberdeen captain lasted just 65 minutes as he made his first appearance at his former stomping ground in a Rangers strip. He was dismissed by referee Willie Collum for following through into Aberdeen striker Stevie May’s shin after winning the ball.

It was the fourth time he has seen red in just 19 appearance­s for the Ibrox side – although two of those sendings-off were later overturned on appeal.

However, Jack’s latest challenge has failed, with the Scottish Football Associatio­n’s fast-track disciplina­ry tribunal deciding to dismiss his protest.

The 25-year-old will now miss tomorrow’s clash against Ross County as well as Wednesday’s Easter Road showdown with Hibernian, and the
