Hipsway

-

Though never the most commercially successful of the blue-eyed soul bands to emerge from Glasgow in the 1980s, Hipsway burned brightly if briefly, and it seems many fans still hold a candle for their sophisticated Scotpop as their reunion continues apace, extending beyond the city which birthed them. Their 2017 set is a meticulous recreation of the moody pop sounds of their heyday, evocative enough to transport the listener back to a time of trenchcoats, bad cappuccinos and copies of Camus visibly sticking out of back pockets.
