How To Disappear
For most of us, there comes a moment in December when we’ve truly had enough of endless prechristmas cheer; and that’s the moment to book a ticket for the latest Traverse play by Morna Pearson, whose fierce and vivid brand of Doric surrealism tramples brilliantly all over the traditional pieties of domestic life. How To Disappear tells the story of Robert and his carer sister Isla, who live in their own weird small world until they receive a visit from Jessica, the benefits assessor. Expect wild laughs and raging eccentricity, as gifted Traverse associate Gareth Nicholls directs Sally Reid of Scotsquad, alongside Owen Whitelaw and Kirsty Mackay. Traverse Theatre, Edinburgh, until 23 December, 0131-228 1404
