#BREXIT

Theresa May spent the night in Brexit talks and was rewarded when European Commission President Jean-claude Juncker said sufficient progress had been made in Brexit discussions to move to the next stage, which would allow the UK to discuss a possible trade deal.

@theolovesalf said: “How many billions are going to pay for Brexit that will probably affect the younger generation for years to come? Many of them didn’t want Brexit.”

@Jabraanaltaf added: “Surprised by the quick turn of events, it looks as if May panicked and just agreed to anything.”

@Margaretlodgeld said: “So, it’s taken them all night to agree on having no hard border on the island of Ireland. However, they still have no agreement on the actual logistics of how that will happen.”

#MCINNES

Aberdeen manager Derek Mcinnes turned down the chance to become the new Rangers manager and instead committed his future to the Dons.

@Currieausten said: “What a massive lack of ambition shown by Derek Mcinnes turning down the chance to make Rangers great again.”

@grantmck1988 added: “See for Derek Mcinnes, a former player and Rangers supporter to turn down the Rangers job tells you all you need to know about the club just now.”

@Hendrystl jokingly said: “Good afternoon to everyone except Derek Mcinnes.”

#CAROLINE

Temperatures could plunge to as low as -8C in parts of Scotland by tomorrow as Storm Caroline continues to batter the nation. Heavy snow has been widespread across northern areas along with gusts of up to 93mph.

@Lozula said: “Weather update from the Isle of Skye today. The waterfalls are going the wrong way.”

@davidnisbet87 took a sarcastic approach to Storm Caroline, accompanied by a picture of clear blue skies. He said: “Incredible scenes of the devastation wrought on one Kirkintilloch street by #Stormcaroline.”

@Loiner_nick77 added: “Who names these storms?! Brian, Aileen and Caroline! Sounds like a 1970s family folk band.”

@Hazylou said: “Does anyone else take the weather really personally? Like – ‘Damn you Storm Caroline I had things to do today’!”
