Wind farm gets go-ahead in spite of opposition

Theapprova­lofanewwin­d farm in the Tweedsmuir hills has been criticised for ignoring the impact on tourism in the area.

Scottish Borders Council renewed its opposition to the Whitelaw Brae scheme last year.

However, the project has been given the go-ahead by the Scottish Government, with 14 wind turbines to be installed in the picturesqu­e Borders location. Mountainee­ring Scotland also opposed the scheme.
